The Educational Foundation of the Chesters sponsors the Thank-A-Teacher program which can help make your end-of-year giving easier and more meaningful. The Thank-A-Teacher program allows you to recognize teachers with a tax-deductible donation in their name. The teacher will receive an acknowledgement card indicating that your family has made a donation honoring her/his work on your child’s behalf. Individual donation amounts are not disclosed. In January and again at the end of school, teachers will be advised as to the amount of their individual Thank-A-Teacher funds. (Please note that some PTA representatives may be organizing a class Thank-A-Teacher donation as an end-of-year gift for your child’s teacher(s). That will be coordinated by the PTA Rep. This form is for individual donations only.) Fill out the form below and send it along with your check made out to the "Educational Foundation of the Chesters" to:

The Foundation is committed to piloting new After School Programs. In return for the funding it provides, the Foundation requires that students and facilitators complete written feedback forms as a means of assessing the success of the program. If the building principal believes the program was successful, funding for succeeding years should then be included in the building's budget, thereby allowing the Foundation to fund additional programs. In the past, the Foundation has piloted a Homework Club, Chess Club, Environmental Club, and Drama Club at Bragg School; Drama Club and Computer Club at BRMS. This year the Foundation is funding a Yearbook Club at Bragg School and Chess Club, Photography Club, and Destination Imagination Club at BRMS. After-School Program

The Angel Program was instituted to give teachers, administrators, parents and community members the financial support to develop creative teaching projects. All Angel programs and projects must be implemented by a classroom teacher. Once a program or project has been approved by the school administration and has met the comprehensive standards of the Foundation Board, it can then be adopted by interested “angel” families with students in that classroom. Successful programs will be considered for expansion to other classes or across a grade level. Parents who have indicated a willingness to contribute to an angel project or program for a particular teacher will be contacted by a Foundation Trustee when a grant application has been submitted by the teacher. Last year, eight angel grants throughout the 3 schools were supported by numerous Chester families. |
